OWNER HANDLER ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA, INCORPORATED
The Owner Handler Association of America, Inc, was founded in 1967 to encourage and promote the sport of owner training and handling of dogs, and to encourage and promote sportsmanship
among the dog fancy.
Members may wear official OHA pins in the ring, as allowed by the AKC, and are eligible to
earn OHA certificates for participating in AND ending the NOHS year in the TOP 10 Rank- ings for their breed!
OHA ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
Three scholarships a year are offered by OHA. Two of the scholarships are offered in the names of two founding OHA members, Charlie Westfield and Harry Proctor. The criteria for
awarding scholarships is based
on applicant’s academic achievements and potential, financial need and the applicant’s involve-
ment in dog-related activities. The scholarships are available to students who are personally, or be- long to family that is involved in the sport of dogs. For more information please contact Victoria
Glickstein at ohaavg@gmail.com. Deadline for submission is March 31st of each calendar
year. The OHA also offers certificates and monetary prizes to OHA member Juniors who qualify for competition at the AKC Eukanuba National Championship.
Scholarships are also available for OHA members, young and old, looking to further their education.
Become an OHA member, or join a Chapter Club in your area! Many Chapter Clubs offer handling classes and lectures of interest!
