For such a tough little terrier, this breed has a special way of warming our hearts and wrapping itself around our heart. Just ask breeder Rob Johnson, caught napping with two of his puppies wrapped around his shoulders. The TFT is a wonderful combination of indepen- dence and but absolute and utter devotion to their person.
Violet Denney
Violet Denney, All Breeds UKC Judge and Past President of the National Toy Fox Terrier Club, says “One of the beauties of the Toy Fox Terrier breed is that their natural instincts have not been ruined by breeding strictly for the show ring.
“The TFT of today is so agile he can balance on a toothpick and he still loves to hunt small varmints or jump straight up to spot a rabbit when he’s running through tall grass.
“On the other hand, a TFT can get all the exercise it needs in a small apartment chasing a tennis ball. Most females are still free-whelping and the males breed without human assistance. When the day’s activi- ties are done, he is happy to curl up in your lap in front of the TV and snuggle.”
Cindy Enroughty
Does he get along with other dogs? Depends on how still their favorite bed can be when its naptime. Club President Cindy Enroughty shared this photo of her Toy Fox and Great Pyrenees. Other own- ers report their dogs get along great with the family cats, birds, and other dogs.
Michelle Hall
One Toy Fox Terrier even accepted Michelle Hall’s long-time pet rat! Michelle said, “I worried at first and introduced them carefully, very aware of the breed’s heritage, but Quantum understood and they quickly became playmates.”
The Toy Fox Terrier is your personal protector, vermin eradicator, bed fellow, and portable entertainment center. Incred- ibly healthy, hardy, and helpful, he’ll be with you for waaaay over a decade.
